Need a social media pick me up? Try bit.ly, an unusual sounding website with a powerful engine. On first look, it seemed it was just a place to shorten a lengthy URL (website) into something more manageable. Upon further discovery, it does a lot more by instantly tracking how many people have clicked on a site. In addition, you can customize part of the name so that it’s easier to remember. The tracking is key, especially with something like the Facebook LIKE button, which gives a count of how many people LIKE a page, but not necessarily how many times it’s been clicked. Bit.ly does this and presents it on real pretty graphs and pie charts for easy managing and analyzing.
