Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary defines RAISON D’ETRE as: “a reason or justification for existence”.
Many years back, I discovered somewhere into January/February that there was a singular word that seemed to stand out in the forefront, both by saying it out loud and applying its meaning to life and biz. At the time, it wasn’t a conscious decision to use or choose any one in particular, but after seeing the benefits of focusing on a word as your raison d’etre for the year, I started assigning one at the beginning of the year and focusing on it throughout the year.
My word for 2012 is THRIVE. Admittedly, after a recent getaway, I added a second word, COMMIT.
