Good Monday morning and welcome to the new world of Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg and crew chose 60 minutes to debut the new Facelook of Facebook. According to CBS News social media wizard Joe Akbrud, the changes are design based and should not, I repeat should not affect privacy settings. With an estimated 500 million users worldwide, Facebook walls far and wide will no doubt be:
a. singing the praises of the new look,
and/or
b. complaining about the new look
When changes have occurred in the past, I’ve thought it was most ironic that some people used the very forum of Facebook to complain about Facebook. As much as “nothing is perfect”, this marketer has nothing but gratitude for the vast capabilities of Facebook and I’m looking forward to seeing the new look. When used for good and not evil, the social media giant can reconnect friends, bring in business, and really make a difference in people’s lives. I know. It’s happened to me. The new changes will apparently be rolling out gradually, giving users time to catch up and adjust to change. After all, it is the only constant in life.
