BIO FORMAT FOR PRESS

LisaBeth’s mission is to make a difference through her art, music, and writing. She is a freelance writer, songwriter, illustrator, lettering artist, and consultant.
Her work is available for gallery showings, and feature a showcase of what she calls her “wall art”, including “quotation art” a series of prints with timely hand lettered quotes about the environment and other signs of the times, with textural watercolor as a backdrop, as well as photography of local scenes, and other illustrations.

LisaBeth has recorded four CD’s of original music, along with her singing partner Maggie Marshall who brings high lonesome harmony and stellar upright bass playing to the duo. Their latest album is THE FIRE TOWER SESSIONS, an assortment of songs ranging from the state of the world to the state of grace.
It was produced and engineered by Grammy music-maker BIL VORNDICK (RALPH STANLEY, BELA FLECK, BOB DYLAN, DOLLY PARTON, ALISON KRAUSS);
and features the wonderful singers and players…..JONELL MOSSER, JOHNNY HILAND, SUSAN MARSHALL, TIM LORSCH, TOM ROADY, and BIL VORNDICK.
With guitar, double bass, 3 part harmony, fiddle, mandolin, sizzlin’ lead guitar, smiling percussion, Tibetan bells, and angel harp,
the record presents an exciting array of tunes…some old-timey-ish, some new, one borrowed and some bluegrassy.

Of the thought provoking and lead song on the new record, LINE IN THE SAND, Sonny Ochs (sister of Phil Ochs) says:
"Line in the Sand" is an especially good song. It catches you with its upbeat tempo and catchy melody, then hits you with the power of its words.”

LisaBeth (with and without Maggie) has opened shows for over 50 national acts, including Nanci Griffith, Dave Grisman, Roy Clark*, Marty Sexton, Susan Werner, John Gorka, The Mammals*, Loudon Wainwright III, Patty Larkin, David Wilcox, Vance Gilbert*, Christine Lavin, Tom Paxton*, Todd Snider*, Dave Carter & Tracy Grammar*,
Tom Rush, Tom Chapin, Geno Delafose, Fred Eaglesmith*, Jonathan Edwards, Steve Forbert, John Hammond, Eleanor McEvoy, Bill Miller, James McMurtry, Bill Morrissey, Orleans, Jonathan Richman, John Sebastian, Darden Smith, Chris Smither, Trout Fishing in America, Sloan Wainwright, Cheryl Wheeler*, Robin and Linda Williams*,
Jay Ungar & Molly Mason*, and more. They have played concerts across the country and have been guests on the radio numerous times,
as well as LisaBeth having two songs featured on NPR’s (NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO) CARTALK.

In the world of visual art, LisaBeth is most noted for her line of socially conscious pins, worn by HILLARY CLINTON and GLORIA STEINEM, among others.
She has been recognized nationally for her efforts in spreading awareness of crucial matters in social justice, cancer prevention, women’s issues,
politics, and the environment. Her clients have included The National Breast Cancer Coalition, N.O.W. (National Organization for Women), The Black Women’s Health Imperative, Natural Lands Trust, Greenpeace, and more. She has raised money for disaster relief, and continues to give back through donating design services and pins, and raising money for organizations through pin sales. LisaBeth is also an illustrator and noted lettering artist/calligrapher, and has designed a font for the INTERNATIONAL TYPEFACE CORPORATION. It's called ITC "weber hand", and is available at www.fonts.com. The consummate Renaissance woman, LisaBeth’s other interests continue. She was a Theater Manager in her 5th year at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. She has been working in filmmaker guest services at the PHILADELPHIA FILM FESTIVAL for the last 6 years. She is also a freelance writer, with articles published in various magazines, including Performing Songwriter Magazine, National Search Dog Foundation, and PC Solutions. LisaBeth has worked on political campaigns (albeit admitting she doesn’t like politics) because she doesn’t like what’s going on even more than she doesn’t like politics. Plus she felt it was the right thing to do. She is an activist and has been called on to perform at several rallies. In the fall of 2006, she was invited to perform her music at a
BILL CLINTON rally when he was campaigning on behalf of Congressman Patrick Murphy's first run for office.
